Services

Avant offers a full spectrum of construction services: from pre-construction (coordinate design and permitting activities) to demolitions. Avant also acts as a subcontractor to other builders for structural elements such us masonrty, concrete, stucco, framing (wood and metal), drywalling, as well as finished carpentry and painting.

Pre-Construction

Our in-house engineering experience allows Avant managers to represent owners/investors before architects, engineering firms, government agencies a s the project moves from concept, to design, to budgeting, to zoning approval, and permitting. Often we can help clients test "what if" alternatives prior to committing the project to formal design engineering. This is the stage which can truly save cost and time in the life of the project.

The pre-construction process may sometimes take more time than the actual construction to follow. The budgeting process iself binds Avant to the Owner in a way that goes beyond the commitment embodied in the formal contract preceeding the commencement of actual construction.

Avant approaches the project with the responsibility of a partner. The  succesful completion gives us the best assurance of a continuing realtionship and further business as the client grows and prospers in its own business.

New Construction

New construction makes it easier to comply with the latest hurricane hardening and energy saving codes on a time and cost predictable basis.

Except for roofing, and mechnical (plumbing, electrical, air conditioning), Avant uses its own well trained, experienced crews which have been groomed over a period of several years.

Sub-Contracting

Large builders benefit by subcontracting Avant's core competency in structural building (concrete, masonry, framing, and roofing) to become more competitive in their own bidding. Avant also offers interior and demolition services. Here are some of the benefits:

This business depends completely on referrals from satisfied customers. Avant will welcome requests for references.     Build Outs

     Internal construction, requiring demolition/rebuilding inside existing structures, generally requires testing and probing of structure, using outdated, hard to read prints, if any available at all. If the buildout impacts the structural elements of the building,  any new structural elements are generally built with extra safety factors which may add considerable cost and unpredictability to any budget and time schedule.

    Buildouts may require engineering "on the fly" as existing mechanical and structural infrastructure is exposed during demolition activity. This infrastructure may have to be reinforced to accomodate the prospective new use of the building. Furthermore laboratory tests for the presence of asbestos may require special asbestos recovery methods ("abatement").

    Buildout do present special challenges. Avant does have unique expertise in coordinating the buildout process with architects/engineers/owners to resolve problems as they are encountered.  More importantly, our experience and know-how allows us to come forward with solutions which are most likely to be the most cost effective and appropriate in the resolution of the problem.
